Grad School Bound

Michael Coday works with hip amputeeSenior Michael Coday, who will graduate in December with a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science, has been admitted to an elite graduate program at the University of Connecticut (UConn).

The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at UConn is the highest-rated program in the country, said John Caruso, a TU assistant professor of athletic training. "UConn is known for the quality of the faculty and the facilities," Caruso said. "Their publication is first-rate, and job placement of their students is excellent."

Coday will be working in the lab to do research under William J. Kraemer, a world-renowned physiologist and biochemist.

"It's a dream," Coday said, "because UConn was my top choice. You can't exaggerate how excited I am."

Of 300 master's students who applied, only two were accepted to work with Kraemer, Coday said.

Coday plans to earn a doctoral degree at UConn and then do research when he graduates.
