The Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) program emphasizes undergraduate research,
academics, leadership, and community involvement. The TURC Program offers
highly motivated students with the opportunity to increase their research
skills while expanding knowledge in an area of student interest. The program
also offers students unique opportunities for personal development while preparing students for a life of community
involvement
and for pursuing internationally competitive fellowships and scholarships.
The centerpiece of the program is research and students pursue research in
areas of mutual interest with their faculty advisors.
Each TURC student works closely with their faculty advisor who mentors as well
as monitors his or her progress. The goals of such research may be to deliver
papers at academic conferences, to produce publishable articles, or to initiate
meaningful business or community projects.
To participate in the TURC program, a student must be highly motivated, have a
specific research area of interest and be paired with a faculty advisor. The
College supports the TURC program
and college faculty members are available to serve as student advisors.
Students who are interested in participating in the TURC program and want to
pursue research in a business related area are encouraged to contact Tim Urban,
Collins College of Business TURC Coordinator or Nona Charleston, TURC University Administrator.
