The finance minor includes courses in financial management, investments, and financial institutions. Since a major component of virtually every business decision for both profit and not- for-profit firms is the financial implication of the decision, finance is a natural complement to business administration majors in accounting, economics, management, marketing, and management information systems. The finance minor is restricted to business majors.

The finance minor requires a minimum of 12 semester hours, as follows:

Six hours of required courses: *

Number Title Credit Hours
Fin 3023 Financial Institutions and Markets I 3
Fin 3083 Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management I 3

and six hours of electives from:

Number Title Credit Hours
Fin 4003 Working Capital Management 3
Fin 4013 Long-Term Financial Decisions 3
Fin 4033 Risk Management  3
Fin 4043 Financial Institutions and Markets II 3
Fin 4063 International Business Finance 3
Fin 4083 Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management II 3
Fin 4113 Student Investment Fund I 3

*  NOTE:  Fin 3003, required of all business majors, is a prerequisite for all of the required courses.
