Master of Science in Finance (MSF)
The Master of Science in Finance program prepares students for careers in a range of specialized areas: corporate finance, investments and portfolio management, and risk management. This program delivers in-depth study of the sophisticated analytical techniques and market transactions that drive financial innovation.

Students choose to specialize in one area of finance. All areas require 36 credit hours. Specializations are available in the following areas:
Investments and Portfolio Management Option
This option is for individuals seeking in-depth study of financial markets and an understanding of the market's role in developing the financial assets of corporations, mutual funds, and private investors. Students may participate in the management of a real portfolio valued at more than $1,550,000 — Student Investment Fund.
Course Requirements
Corporate Finance Option
This option prepares students for careers involving functions such as analyzing mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; financing firm growth; managing corporate investments; and determining the optimal allocation of a firm's assets. Areas of study include short-term financial assets, long-term financing and investment decisions, international finance, and risk management. Course Requirements
Risk Management Option
This option, housed in the Williams Risk Management Center, is designed for students with strong quantitative backgrounds who intend to pursue careers as risk managers. Professionals in this area use advanced mathematical models to analyze business risks and to determine courses of action that are within acceptable risk limits. Course Requirements
